Kelsey in the Community

Outside of real estate, I pour my heart into volunteering and making a tangible difference in the lives of others — from fostering puppies for service dog programs to collecting prom dresses for high school youth. Learn about the organizations that I work with in Columbus, Ohio.

Franklinton Farms is a non-profit urban farm dedicated to growing and sharing healthy food, creating beauty, and building community with our neighbors.

I served on the board for Franklinton Farms for three years. Prior to embarking on my real estate career, I pursued a degree in non-profit management at The Ohio State University. Seeing my education put into action is truly fulfilling for me. As a member of the board, I contributed to improving the efficiency of the organization’s policies and programming. It's awe-inspiring to realize that Franklinton is classified as a food desert by the USDA, and I take pride in the opportunity to cultivate nutritious foods for people in the community. Even if you don't currently reside in Franklinton, consider supporting the cause by purchasing hyper-local produce at the Worthington Farmer's Market or making an online donation. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on food accessibility and community well-being.

Pilot Dogs is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help military veterans, students in school resource programs, and people who are blind or visually impaired live with greater independence, mobility, safety and confidence.

I have been volunteering with Pilot Dogs since 2019. It was during a walk for Pilot Dogs that I had the pleasure of meeting Wilson, who I later adopted and became part of my family. Additionally, I provide a temporary home for puppies until they were matched with their designated raisers or are accepted into the Pilot Dogs formal training program. This is how I met and ultimately adopted by most recent foster, Uno.

Fairy Goodmothers is an all-volunteer organization that focuses on nurturing confidence and self-esteem among high school youth in central Ohio. Their mission is realized through providing formal dresses and accessories to individuals who may not have the means to afford these items. By offering this free service, Fairy Goodmothers empowers these young individuals to attend prom and experience a sense of joy and uniqueness during this significant milestone.

My tenure on the Fairy Goodmothers board lasted until 2021, after which I transitioned to becoming a regular volunteer. I am heavily involved with volunteering for Cinderella's Boutique, which happens in the first half of the year. I love working with the board to create magical experiences for high schoolers.

Besa is a Columbus, Ohio based not-for-profit with a mission to connect more people to community service. Besa envisions a world where giving back is part of everyone’s everyday life.

As a former employee, I help lead volunteer groups in their service projects. Additionally I take on the role of being Besa's Holiday Hero every year to support their holiday gift drive, WISH, which provides 2,000+ fixed-income seniors community-wide with holiday gifts. If you are ever looking to volunteer, check out Besa's website!
